Hey, y’all! I’m Sara. I had the privilege of serving as a school counselor at elementary schools in a major urban district in the south for seven years. This job is my calling! I’m particularly passionate about engaging and effective classroom lessons, curriculum mapping, MTSS-B, and working with EL students. I’m on a bit of a sabbatical this year, focusing on my family and helping you all, while hoping to find a part-time position in my district next year.
I believe that black lives matter, women’s rights are human rights, no human is illegal, and love is love.
I have masters degrees in both counseling (clinical mental health and school tracks) and community action research. The latter drives me to be data-driven and focused on evidence-based practices. I spent six years at my first school and am excited to embark on the adventure of helping to open a brand new school in my district. I blog to share what works (and doesn’t work!) for me so that together we can “work smarter, not harder“. I sell many of my resources on TpT; my goal is that this blog is giving away helpful ideas for you and my TpT resources are for saving you time.
Personally, I’m equal parts Northerner and Southerner. My family includes an incredibly supportive husband and two sweet little boys. I’m excited to connect with you!
