Must Have Books – Anger/Frustration
This is Part 3 in my must have book series. You can read Part 1 here and Part 2 here!
Part 3: Anger/Frustration
Anh’s Anger – I’ve used this book with K-3rd grade, though the main character is certainly more like 4. Great use of externalizing a feeling, this book teaches deep breathing as a way to manage anger while also showing that anger itself isn’t bad.
As I mentioned before, this book is gold. For anger, frustration, or disappointment – I love this book. It’s also a great segue into self-talk. While the book only really discusses one coping skill (telling yourself “no biggy”), part of its excellence is that students really seem to remember and use this.
(Already mentioned in this post specifically about Julia Cook books)
