Part 1: Privacy Policy
We respect your privacy. We collect only what we need to run our business and serve you well, and we never sell your personal information.
1. Information you give us
- Account and order details. When you create an account or make a purchase, we collect your name, email address, billing address, and order history. If you order our physical product, we also collect your shipping address.
- Payment information. Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.

- Forms and messages. When you contact us or fill out a form on our site, we collect the information you choose to share, such as your name, email address, role, and message.
- Blog comments. When you leave a comment, we collect your name, email address, website (if you add one), and your comment. We also collect your IP address and browser details to help prevent spam.
2. Information collected automatically
When you visit our site, we and our service providers automatically collect some technical information. This can include your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you visit, how you found our site, and your general location (such as city or country). Much of this is collected through cookies, which are explained in Section 6.
3. A note about student information
Our site and resources are designed for adult professionals. We do not collect any student information. Please never include student names or any other identifying student details in a form, comment, message, or account on our site.

6. Cookies and tracking
Cookies are small files saved in your browser. We use them for a few purposes:
- Essential cookies keep your cart, login, and checkout working. Our site can’t function properly without them.
- Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) help us understand which pages are helpful and how visitors find us.
- Advertising cookies (Meta Pixel) help us measure our ads and show them to people who may find our resources useful.
- Embedded content from Vimeo may set its own cookies when you watch a video.
Where the law requires it, we ask for your consent before using non-essential cookies. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s browser add-on, and adjust your ad preferences in your Facebook or Instagram settings. Blocking essential cookies may keep parts of the site, like checkout, from working.
7. Emails from us
If you join our email list, we’ll send you resources, tips, and occasional product news. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out anytime. Even after you unsubscribe, we’ll still send emails about your orders and account, such as receipts and download links.
8. How long we keep your information
We keep your information only as long as we need it:
- Account and order records: while your account is active, and afterward as long as needed for tax, accounting, and legal purposes
- Email list details: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them
- Form submissions and messages: as long as needed to respond and keep reasonable business records
- Blog comments: until you ask us to remove them
- Analytics data: according to the retention settings of the service that collects it
9. How we protect it
Our site uses secure encryption (SSL), and we work with reputable providers that protect your data. Payment details go directly to Stripe and never touch our servers. No website is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to keep your information safe.
10. Your rights and choices
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we have about you and give you a copy
- Correct information that is wrong or out of date
- Delete your information (unless we must keep it for legal or tax reasons)
- Stop sending you marketing emails
To make a request, email help@theresponsivecounselor.com. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we’ll respond within 30 days. You can also update your account details anytime by logging in. We will never treat you differently for making a privacy request.
11. Visitors outside the United States
We’re based in the United States, and we welcome counselors from around the world. Your information is stored and processed in the United States and in other countries where our service providers operate. Privacy laws there may differ from those where you live.
Depending on where you live, including Canada, Australia, the United Kingdom, or the European Union, you may have additional rights. These can include the right to receive your data in a portable format, limit or object to how we use it, withdraw your consent at any time, and file a complaint with your local privacy authority.
For visitors in the UK and EU, we use your information based on one of these legal grounds: to fulfill our agreement with you (such as delivering an order), with your consent (such as email sign-ups and non-essential cookies), for our legitimate business interests (such as improving our site and preventing fraud), or to meet legal obligations.
12. Children’s privacy
Our site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has shared information with us, please contact us and we’ll delete it.
Part 2: Terms of Use
These terms explain what you can expect from us and what we ask of you when you use our site and resources.
1. Using our site
Our site is intended for adults 18 and older. Please use it lawfully and respectfully. You agree not to interfere with the site, try to access areas you aren’t authorized to use, copy or scrape our content, or use the site in a way that harms us or other visitors.
2. Your account
When you create an account, please give accurate information and keep your password private. Each account is for one person. You’re responsible for activity under your account, so let us know right away if you think someone else has accessed it. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms.
3. Purchases and payment
All prices are listed in US dollars and may change at any time, though changes won’t affect orders you’ve already placed. Payments are processed securely through Stripe, and applicable taxes are added at checkout. Digital products are available to download from your account right after purchase. Shipping costs and estimated delivery times for our physical product are shown at checkout.
We may cancel an order if a product is listed with an error, such as an incorrect price. If that happens, we’ll refund you in full.
4. Refunds
Because digital products are delivered instantly and can’t be returned, all sales are final. The one exception is a duplicate purchase: if you accidentally buy the same product twice, email us within 30 days and we’ll refund the duplicate.
If you have trouble opening or downloading a file, please reach out. We’re happy to help or send a replacement.
Nothing in this policy limits any rights you have under consumer protection laws that can’t be waived, including the Australian Consumer Law and similar laws in other countries.
5. Licensing and sharing our resources
When you buy a resource, you’re purchasing a license to use it, not ownership of the resource itself.
One educator per license. Each purchase includes a license for one educator. Sharing a resource with anyone else requires purchasing additional licenses.
You may:
- Use the resource with the students you serve and print copies for that use
- Share pieces of the resource with parents and caregivers to reinforce skills at home
You may not:
- Email or forward the file to anyone, including colleagues
- Save the file on a shared drive or in any shared folder
- Post the file anywhere on the internet
- Resell, redistribute, or claim the resource as your own
- Use the resource to create products for sale
Sharing with your team. Want colleagues to use a resource too? Purchase an additional license for each educator. School and district licenses are also available. Email help@theresponsivecounselor.com for details.
Not sure whether a use is allowed? Just ask us before sharing. We’re happy to help.
6. Professional development videos
Our professional development (PD) videos are free, self-paced, and hosted on Vimeo. You’re welcome to watch them as often as you like. Please don’t download, record, or redistribute the videos or their materials.
Whether a PD video counts toward continuing education, licensure, or district PD requirements is decided by your licensing board, employer, or district. Please check with them if you plan to use a video for credit.
7. Professional use disclaimer
Our resources are created to support school counselors, school psychologists, and other educators in their work. They are for educational purposes only.
- They are not therapy, and they are not medical, clinical, psychological, or legal advice.
- Using our site or resources does not create a counselor-client or therapist-client relationship with anyone at The Responsive Counselor.
- They are not a substitute for your own professional training and judgment.
- You are responsible for deciding whether a resource is right for a student and for using it in line with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, your district’s policies, and your profession’s ethical standards. This includes rules on confidentiality, consent, and mandated reporting.
- Our resources are not designed for crisis situations. If a student is in crisis, follow your school’s crisis procedures and contact emergency services when needed.
Every student and school is different, so we can’t guarantee specific results.
8. Affiliate disclosure
Some links on our site are affiliate links. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases. This comes at no extra cost to you, and we only recommend products we believe are genuinely helpful for counselors.
9. Reviews and blog comments
Reviews. The reviews shown on our site come from real customers. Some were originally posted on other platforms where our resources are sold. Individual experiences vary.
Blog comments. We love hearing from you! Please keep comments kind, professional, and on topic, and never include student information. We may moderate, edit, or remove comments at our discretion. By posting a comment, you give us permission to display it on our site.
10. Our intellectual property
All content on our site, including our resources, PD videos, text, graphics, and videos, belongs to The Responsive Counselor, LLC and is protected by copyright and other laws. Our name and logo are our trademarks. Please don’t copy, modify, or use our content or branding without written permission, except as your license allows.
11. Limits of liability
Our site and resources are provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind beyond those required by law. We work hard to keep everything accurate and available, but we can’t promise the site will always be error-free or uninterrupted.
To the fullest extent the law allows, The Responsive Counselor, LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of our site or resources. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
You agree to hold harmless The Responsive Counselor, LLC from claims arising from your misuse of our site or resources or your violation of these terms.
Our site links to other websites, such as Amazon. We aren’t responsible for their content, products, or privacy practices.
12. Governing law and other legal details
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, without regard to conflict of law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Davidson County, Tennessee.
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. If we don’t enforce a part of these terms right away, that doesn’t mean we’ve given up the right to enforce it later. These terms, together with any license terms included in your products, are the full agreement between you and us.
