Professional Roles and Identities
Child Therapist
A child therapist is a licensed mental health professional who provides therapy to children. Child therapists use developmentally appropriate approaches to help children express feelings, build regulation, coping, and problem-solving skills, and improve functioning at home and at school. They may work in private practice, community mental health, hospitals, or school-based settings.
