Executive Functioning
Executive functioning refers to the cognitive skills controlled by the prefrontal cortex that help children plan, organize, focus attention, remember information, manage emotions, and complete tasks. These skills support goal-directed behavior, decision-making, and self-regulation. Executive functioning develops over time as the brain matures and through practice using these skills in daily life.
