Help your Pre-K students learn how to use respectful language to express their needs with this fully scripted social-emotional learning lesson. Grounded in SEL research-based best practices, this engaging lesson uses a short story about Lulu the turtle and Ziggy the fox to help young learners understand how to tell others what they need and ask for help. Preschool students will learn to pause, think about their words, and come up with respectful ways to ask for help. They will practice through connections to real-life scenarios, movement, activities and discussion.
Included in the resource:
- Slideshow featuring an interactive read-aloud story with a movement-based activity
- Whole group practice activity that helps students identify helpful and unhelpful ways to ask for help
- Cut-out character puppets to bring the story to life and support role play and retelling
- Extension activities, including an additional practice activity, worksheet, recommended book companions, and a teacher handout for additional support
- Closing circle questions to deepen reflection and discussion
