After grad school, when I first started working in the field, I realized there was SO MUCH I still didn’t know about being a counselor or working in education. I found a lot of help from blogs and 2013, I decided to create my own little place on the internet to share what I’ve learned with others.

I write about what works, what doesn’t work, and how to make sure your practices are effective. We don’t have time to spare so we have to make sure we’re using it in ways that truly help our students!

I’m passionately devoted to sharing knowledge, ideas, inspiration, and resources that promote social emotional wellness and growth. I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to serve thousands of children and educators across the globe through my work here.

Hi! I’m Sara. I am a Midwesterner that turned into a Southern city transplant. My family includes an incredibly supportive husband, two sweet boys (6.5 and 4) and a naughty puppy. I’m not into most typologies but I do love the enneagram; I’m a one wing two.

I had the privilege of serving as an elementary school counselor in a large district in the south for seven years.  In fall of 2019, I decided to take a sabbatical to focus on creating SEL and counseling curriculums and providing professional development.

I’m excited to connect with you!
