Positive Reinforcement
Positive reinforcement means giving someone something they like or value after they show a desired behavior, with the goal of helping that behavior happen more often. This might look like specific praise, privileges, points, or small rewards. Positive reinforcement works best when the person can already do the behavior and just needs extra motivation or encouragement to use it more consistently.
