Status: Part-Time, Hourly (10 hours/week)

Compensation: $30/hour

We’re on the hunt for a Marketing (Social Media and Email) Assistant – someone who is just as passionate about school counseling as they are sharing about it. If you know your school counseling practices inside and out and can bring a creative spark to marketing, this job might just be your dream come true! This will start as a contract position, with the hopes of moving our ideal candidate into an employee role after a few months of demonstrated success.

You’re a perfect fit if…

You geek out over research-based school counseling practices and stay on top of the latest trends.

You love writing (and you know you’re great at it).

You’re a strong communicator who can clearly explain the challenges school counselors face and the solutions that The Responsive Counselor offers.

You’re creative, innovative, and love brainstorming fresh ways to connect with other school counselors.

Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll have four primary responsibilities:

  • Planning, creating, and scheduling social media posts aligned with existing brand strategy

  • Writing weekly email newsletters

  • Analyzing performance metrics in order to make data-driven adjustments

  • Building on existing marketing efforts through new initiatives

Compensation and Perks

The starting rate for this role is $30/hour. While most hours need to be completed during traditional business hours, we offer flexible scheduling.

Requirements

As a Marketing Assistant, you must have:

  • 2+ years of experience (within the past four years) as a licensed school counselor or school social worker

  • Keen attention to detail with enthusiasm for being thorough in your work

  • Excitement for social media

  • Superb writing skills

  • An excellent eye for design

  • Experience working in Canva

  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to independently manage multiple projects, platforms, and timelines simultaneously

  • Not working for any other SEL or counseling curriculum companies

Working at The Responsive Counselor

We know that considering a new position is a commitment and a leap of faith. It’s important to us that our new team members love their work as much as we do. With that in mind, here’s a little bit about what it’s like to be part of the team:

We have four core values that we live out both in our internal work and functioning as well as in the content we create – Integrity; Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion; Growth Orientation; Excellence.

At times, you’ll be working with the whole (small but mighty!) TRC team. That said, you will primarily be working with CEO and founder, Sara.

This is a remote position, and we are accepting applicants from anywhere in the US (and US territories). Take note that the word you need to include in the application form is cactus.

This is also a position that requires committment. While your hours are flexible, our Marketing Assistant is needed 10 hours/week with the majority of your hours being inside 8am-4pm CST Monday-Friday. That means this position is not a side hustle for someone with a full-time job elsewhere. Your commitment and dedication to the work we do is a key component of our success!

However, your start date is also flexible. If you’re in a school full-time this school year but won’t be in ’26-’27, you are still welcome to apply.

About the Company and the Position

The Responsive Counselor is a school counseling, social emotional learning, and children’s mental health company. What started as a blog back in 2013 has turned into a thriving company with the privilege of serving school counselors, educators, parents, and children’s therapists across the globe.

We create downloadable resources and professional development trainings that support children’s wellness and make the jobs of those who support them a little bit easier and a little bit better. You can check us out on Facebook or Instagram or TeachersPayTeachers or right here on our website to see more of what we’re about.

We’re hiring for a Marking Assistant (part-time remote position) that will knock our socks off and continue in the incredible work of marketing our company and curriculum.

How to Apply

Did we just describe you, your strengths, and your passions in this job posting? If so, we’d love for you to apply!

The first step is to complete the application form.

We will be accepting applications through Monday, March 15th, 11:50pm PST. From there, we will select the best fit candidates to proceed through each of the following stages of the hiring process:

  • Paid Trial Project (~3-4 hours, one week turn around)

  • Interview

  • Decision

We’re excited to hear from you!

P.S. If you’re not interested in this position right now, but know someone who might be, we’d appreciate you passing this along!

Status: Part-Time, Hourly (20 hours/week)

Compensation: $30/hour

We’re on the hunt for a School and District Partnerships Coordinator who knows the world of K-12 education, genuinely cares about the work school counselors do, and knows how to build relationships that last. If you get a little rush from a well-crafted follow-up email and feel a real sense of satisfaction when a new partnership comes together, this job might be exactly what you’ve been looking for.

You’re a perfect fit if…

  • You understand the realities of working in K-12 schools and can speak the language of administrators and counselors alike

  • You write emails that actually get responses: clear, warm, and unmistakably human

  • You’re organized in a way that’s functional, not just theoretical: systems, follow-through, and consistent communication come naturally to you

  • You’re responsive: when someone reaches out, you get back to them promptly and with quality information

  • You work well independently and bring your own ideas to the table rather than waiting to be told what to do

  • You want to work specifically in this space: school counseling and student wellness genuinely matter to you

Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll have four primary responsibilities:

  • Managing inbound inquiries from school counselors, administrators, and district leaders: responding thoughtfully, sending quotes, and guiding prospective partners through the process from first contact to signed partnership

  • Nurturing existing partnerships to support satisfaction, continued engagement, and renewals

  • Conducting strategic outbound outreach to prospective school and district partners

  • Maintaining our CRM with accuracy and consistency so that every relationship is well-documented and nothing falls through the cracks

Compensation and Perks

The starting rate for this role is $30/hour. This is a part-time employee position at 20 hours per week. It is a bonus-eligible position. Ten days of PTO are offered each year (after six months in the role).

While we offer flexible scheduling, all hours must be completed between 8:00am and 4:00pm CST, Monday through Friday, spread across a minimum of three days per week, Mondays included.

Requirements

As a School and District Partnerships Coordinator, you must have:

  • Bachelors degree

  • K-12 edtech or curriculum sales experience, OR a combination of K-12 classroom or school-based experience and professional experience in sales, customer service, or another client-facing role

  • Superb written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to independently manage multiple relationships, timelines, and follow-ups simultaneously

  • Availability during the hours and days specified above

  • Not currently working for another SEL or school counseling curriculum company

One more thing worth naming directly: this role requires authentic, human communication. We’re not against AI tools, but if you turn to AI every time you need to write an email, this is not the job for you.
